My Morning Routine With Dr. Jerry - the First - 2nd Edition

Hello and welcome to the Second Edition of our Social Media Enlightenment Program #MyMorningRoutineWithDrJerryTheFirst

Our Guest:          Dr. Mellitus O. D Abonyi

In this Second Edition of the program #MyMorningRoutineWithDrJerryTheFirst a Social Media Enlightenment program anchored by Dr. Jerry - the First Oguzie, we met up with Dr. Mellitus O. D. Abonyi and interacted with him on the subject matter - his morning routine and if it has any bearing on how the rest of his day goes

Here's the detailed discussion

Anchor Person:   Hello Chief, my names are Dr. Jerry - the First Oguzie and I am here to meet up with you to record  the second edition of our Social Media program which we call My Morning Routine With Dr. Jerry - the First Oguzie. We are trying to find a correlation between the way a day is started and how it eventually pans out. Our readers will like to meet you and then hear from you how you spend your morning hours especially between wake up time and leaving for work which necessarily is designated as Your Morning Routine

Dr. Abonyi:     "Good Morning. My name is Dr. Mellitus O. D. Abonyi, I am the Chairman AGPMPN FCT Abuja Branch and Medical Director/Chief Executive Officer of Express Hospital Limited Kubwa Abuja. My morning routine is very simple, it is not complicated at all. I wake up between 5 and 5.30 am and most times I first check my phones for any sms that may have been sent to me in the night and know if there are any emergencies, afterwards I get out of bed, move to the bathroom, wash my face and then wake up my other family members for morning devotion; thereafter I walk to the Church for early morning Mass; that walk takes about 15 minutes and helps me to sweat a bit; after the morning Mass, I walk back to my house which takes another 15 minutes, so cumulatively I walk for about 30 minutes which helps to set the tone for my day. Back from the Morning Mass, I interact with my family members again and then go to my Private Study to do some mental exercise (reading and writing) and then take my bath and prepare to step out for the day's work. The morning walk I undertake to the Church every morning does two things for me. 1. It energizes me physically and mentally, preparing me for the day and 2. it enables me to worship God in truth and in Spirit, thus giving me a direction to go in pursuit of my daily activities. I am not a fan of early morning breakfast and so it doesn't feature much in my morning routine, sometimes by the time I am ready for breakfast, others are already taking their lunch.

Anchor Person:     Thank you so much Chief for that brief. We would like to know your morning routine as described does have any impact on the way your day goes?

Dr. Abonyi:     Yes, my morning routine is actually the tonic I need to set my day in motion. Whenever I am unable to carry it out, I don't even feel like going out for that day at all, so it is essentially directly proportional to my daily activities, I get more done when I am able to carry it out.

Anchor Person:   Thanks a lot again, finally, what advise do you have for other Nigerians in view of what you have said here earlier on?

Dr. Abonyi:          My advice is that Nigerians should endeavour to develop the habit of planning  their mornings, as that would help them to be physically, psychologically and mentally healthy and to live their lives in peace The morning routine should be sacrosanct and should not be toyed with. It is the foundation for having a good day.

Anchor Person:     Thank you Chief

Dr. Abonyi:          Thank You for having me and God bless
